Summer Photo Dump

Hi all, this summer has been rather tumultuous for a variety of personal reasons I’m not going to get into right now. I didn’t want to completely leave you hanging on the blog, so please enjoy a million photos of our dog looking goofy and doing cool stuff with us.

These are from a hike in Park City.

Next up are photos from our camping trip to Flaming Gorge with a couple friends. Rita was a little confused at first, but she did a great job! The tent was cozy, but we made it work.

This next batch is from our many visits to the Uinta mountains plus some other random pictures. Rita loves the Uintas! She likes to hike, try to chase chipmunks, and dip her feet in the lakes. She got more and more bold with how deep in the water she was willing to go throughout the summer. She’s not allowed off-leash because she will absolutely try to chase a chipmunk and we’d never see her again.

Her trail manners have gotten so much better too. Way less barking at people and way more soliciting them for pets. She also enjoys only moving half her body out of the way for other hikers, so she blocks half the trail with her butt. Fortunately, most people find her quirks endearing. She’s a great hiking buddy!

On one hike there was a huge family with another dog and a bunch of kids on the trail. We were going to walk around them, but they insisted that we pass on the trail. We thought Rita would freak out from all the people, but she basically became the star of the show in her own parade. She totally ignored the other dog, happily got pets from several of the kids, and she gave extra love and kisses to one little boy who had fallen and was crying. It was probably the most impressive social interaction she’s ever had, and we were so proud. We work really hard with training her, and it was nice to see our hard work pay off.

We’ve also learned that Rita LOVES agility courses. They do it at her daycare, and we found out she loves it so much that we bought a set for home too.

Just more of Rita continuing to be cute.

We recently went on a much needed hiking/camping trip to Idaho, which I’ll do a separate post for soon. Thanks for looking at 1,000 photos of Rita. She really is amazing for having such a mysterious past, and we got so lucky. Don’t get me wrong, we put a lot of work into training her. She did make it a little easier by having a solid base of good behavior to build off of.

Thank you, as always, for reading. Rita didn’t come on our Idaho trip with us, so there will be more incredible pictures but significantly fewer dogs in the next post.

Until next time,

Chloe
